CAPTAIN EDDIE'S FISHING REPORTS-2004

December 4, 2004

Cabin fever got to me in December after finishing up the cotton so my sons Kevin and Matthew and I went to Lake Murray striper fishing. We caught a few stripers so see the picture here!

**NOTE**

The fishing trip below will be my last one for this season. We have 2000 acres of cotton to get in before my striper fishing vacation on Lake Murray in December. I want to thank everyone for your support this year! I have started booking trips starting May 1 of 2005 so let me know if you want to go and we can lock in a date!

September 25, 2004

I fished today with Lanny (from York, SC), Robbie (Charlotte, NC), Curt and Alex (from Monroe, NC). The water was still dirty and it looks like more is on the way with the remnants from Jeanne. The water temp ranged from 78 to 80 degrees, the air temp ranged from 68 to 80. The wind was out of the NE at 10-20. We fished the Shallotte River and the Lockwood Folly Inlet and caught blues, brown trout (lizzard fish) and 5 flounder, with Alex catching a really nice 21 1/2" fish. It was a nice comfortable day on the water. Click here for pictures.

The wind was out of the NE at 10-20, the water temp was 77.8 and the air temp ranged from 68-83 degrees. We caught 14 flounder with one being a real nice 17 incher. We also caught blues and a nice whiting. It was a nice day. Click here for pictures.

September 3, 2004

I fished this morning with David from Florence SC. After all the rains and the water looking like the coffee my grandfather made when I was a puppy we cruised up the ICW to the Lockwood Folly Inlet and started trolling. Low tide was at 5:27am and it was around 7:30 so the incoming tide had pushed the muddy water back into the ICW. The water temp was 77.8 and the wind was out of the ENE at 10-15 knots. We caught 2 keeper flounder, a 15 ½ and a 14 ½. At 9:00 we rode to the Shallotte river and caught a 13 ½ incher and rode up the river scouting out some drum and trout locations. It was a nice morning on the water. Click here for picture.

August 24, 2004

I fished today with Greg from Raleigh NC. We fished the Lockwood Folly Inlet, Shallotte Inlet & River and Tubbs Inlet. The wind was NE at 8-15. The water temp was 79 deg and the air temp was 68 - 83. Click here for picture.

August 19 and 20, 2004

I fished with Bill, Bill Jr, and Kenny from Columbia SC. The water is still stained from the rains from Charley. We went out Lockwood and trolled for Spanish catching 4 before making the turn at Southport. It was a little choppy. We trolled for Flounder at the Lockwood Folly inlet and Shallotte River catching five.

Friday morning we decided to check out Tubbs Inlet. We caught 8 with 2 being a 14 ½ and a 17 ½ incher. We had a good time. The storm has hurt the fishing but it is clearing a little each day. Check here for picture.

We then went down the ICW to the Shallotte Inlet and on to the Ocean Isle bridge. We went back up the waterway to the Shallotte River and a thunderstorm up the river kept us from exploring it.
